Mortgage Renewal in Calgary

That Renewal Letter Is an Offer—Not a Command.

Harpreet’s perspective

Real questions. Real properties. Real numbers.

Your lender sends the renewal: a new rate, a new payment, a convenient signature button, and you are done in thirty seconds. Before clicking it, send it to me.

Not because your bank is automatically giving you a bad deal. They may have given you an excellent one. I just want us to know.

Five Years Is a Long Time

Your income may have changed, your home may have built equity, your family may be different, or you may be planning an investment property, faster repayment, or more flexibility. Before renewing, ask: does this mortgage still fit the next few years of my life?

I will compare the rate, terms, flexibility, and available alternatives. Sometimes I will say switch, negotiate, or restructure. Sometimes I will say, ‘Sign it. They have given you a good deal.’ My job is not to win your renewal. It is to make sure you do.
